How Residential Pest Control Works
There is nothing to sign and nothing to cancel. The plan is a schedule, and you can stop it any time with no fee.
- Free inspection and written quote. A technician walks the inside and outside of your home, identifies what is active, and prices the plan by your square footage before any work starts.
- Interior and exterior treatment every 90 days. Each visit treats the inside and outside of the home for ants, spiders, roaches, wasps, scorpions, and the other common pests active in the region.
- Free return visits. If pests come back between scheduled services, we come back at no charge as long as the account is current.
- Specialty programs when you need them. Brown recluse, German roaches, bed bugs, termites, and rodents each get their own program, because a standard quarterly spray does not reach where those pests live.
Specialty Programs for Homes
German cockroach cleanout
A German roach infestation is established when you are seeing ten or more roaches during the day. At that point a quarterly spray will not fix it. Our cleanout is three visits: an initial cleanout, then two bait services 14 days apart. On the first visit we pull out the appliances, treat the cracks and crevices, dust inside outlets and switches, bait inside appliances that cannot take a liquid, and leave monitors.

Brown recluse program
Fort Smith and the River Valley are among the heaviest brown recluse areas in the country. The first visit uses liquid, dust, and fogging in the attic, and we place glue board monitors in each room. After that we inspect and re-treat monthly until the monitors show the population is gone.
The initial treatment is $350 to $600 by home size, and monthly follow-ups for three months are $100 to $175 a month. Read more about brown recluse treatment.
Bed bugs
Bed bug pricing depends on how many rooms are affected. We inspect first at no charge and quote per room in writing, starting at $250 per room. Read more about bed bug treatment.
Termites
Fort Smith sits in USDA Termite Zone 1, the highest-risk zone in the country. We treat with liquid termiticide and with bait systems, and every treatment is measured and quoted in writing after a free on-site inspection. Our full warranty covers retreatment plus repair of new termite damage up to $50,000, and it transfers to the next owner if you sell. Read more about termite control.
Rodents and wildlife
Rodent control is quoted after a free on-site inspection, because the fix depends on how they are getting in. Wildlife removal is a $300 trap setup for five days, then $75 per animal after the first.
Yard treatments
Treatments for fleas, ticks, army worms, and cicada killers start at $175 for lots up to a quarter acre. Add a yard treatment to your quarterly plan and save 35 percent on the yard price. Fire ant treatment is offered in Fort Smith and the River Valley only, since fire ants are not established in Benton and Washington Counties. Mosquito control is quoted by property after a free inspection.
How to Prepare for a Specialty Treatment
A quarterly service needs no prep. Specialty treatments work better when the areas we need to reach are open. Here is what we ask before the first visit.
German roach cleanout
- Take outlet and switch covers off the walls.
- Empty cabinets, drawers, and pantries.
- Clear everything off countertops and appliances.
- Clear out the kitchen and bathrooms completely.
Brown recluse treatment
- Remove switch and outlet covers.
- Clear closet floors.
- Pull everything away from exterior walls.
- Empty under-sink cabinets.
The fog is used in the attic and crawl space only, so people and pets can stay home during the treatment.

Why Store-Bought Sprays Usually Fall Short
A can of spray kills the bugs it touches. The problem is where the rest of them live. German roaches nest inside cabinets, appliances, and wall voids, which is why our cleanout pulls appliances out, dusts inside outlets and switches, and follows up with bait twice. Brown recluse hide in wall voids, attics, and closets that a surface spray never reaches. Termites need a continuous treated zone around the whole foundation or a monitored bait system.

Quarterly pest control from Extermco runs $35 to $65 a month depending on home size, or $125 to $185 per visit. A one-time pest service is $165 to $215. Inspections are free and every quote is written before work begins.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. Extermco does not use contracts. The plan is a schedule, and you can cancel any time with no cancellation fee and no penalty.
